Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital is the main teaching hospital for Rutgers Medical School. It is a tertiary hospital serving central NJ.
Physician - Cardiac Electrophysiologist
I am a cardiac electrophysiologist. This is a specialty within cardiology that deals with arrhythmias and electrical disturbances of the heart. My daily routines are seeing patients in the outpatient setting, rounding on patients with cardiac problems in the hospital, and performing procedures on patients' hearts. I am an associate professor of medicine at Rutgers Medical School, the program director for the cardiology fellowship, and the medical director of the electrophysiology laboratory at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital. I teach residents and fellows as well as lecture to medical students.
Explore career interests in medicine by shadowing in the hospital setting. If 2-3 students sign up, Dr. Maglione can host the 2-3 for up to four days, but this is optional. If there are 4+ students, he will likely break them up into two groups of two and host them for two days each.
