Learning Goals

Students will have an opportunity to learn the ins and outs of being the chief lawyer for a large, public company: What does a General Counsel/CLO do on a daily basis? How does a General Counsel/CLO manage both a Board of Directors and C-level management team? How does a General Counsel/CLO prepare a public company to become a private company? How does a General Counsel/ manage outside counsel? How does a lawyer seek out such a position? My hope is that by the end of the externship students will have a much better sense of what a public company lawyer does, what law school is like, and how there are many post-law school career paths.
